A business owner lands on your tax page with a question about selling her company. Your firm has exactly the right partner for that conversation. Would she know who to call, or would she end up at the same reception number as a client chasing a tax return?
That's the design problem we looked for in this guide. An accounting website serves people at very different moments. A first-time prospect wants to see who understands their business. A returning client may simply need the portal. Both should be able to move on without reading your entire services menu.
These 12 agencies approach that job differently. Start with the firm whose work looks closest to your practice, then follow a service page through to the first conversation.
How we selected these accounting and cpa web design agencies
We matched each outside agency to a named accounting client and compared the work described in its portfolio with the firm's website. The examples range from a specialist serving farmers to a group that coordinates content across several operating companies.
BRIX Agency publishes this guide and appears first with work from our portfolio. The specialties below explain why we'd look at each team. A three-partner firm and a national advisory group might make very different shortlists from the same examples.

1. BRIX Agency: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Custom Design
1BRIX Agency
Custom accounting websites that connect expertise with the right people.
We design accounting websites around the questions partners hear on a first call. For a firm that does both compliance and advisory work, that can mean giving each service a distinct page, showing who leads it, and making the introduction feel personal before anyone fills out a form.
Accounting website designs from our portfolio

For Tallynest, we adapted our template around a question clients can recognize immediately: where does my money go? A photograph of two people working through the numbers puts a human face on the answer. The next page carries that approach into the practice's story.

Our Balance Oak adaptation takes a more business-focused approach. The opening pairs accounting and tax with a photograph of an adviser at work. The darker company page gives team photography and business figures room to explain the practice behind those services.
More than 60,000 websites use our templates across categories. For a client engagement, we design a custom site around your own partners, service lines and intake process.
2. Hinge: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Multi-Practice Firms
2Hinge
Hinge organizes complex accounting practices into coherent websites, combining research, service architecture, and expert content across multiple business units.
If clients know one part of your firm but rarely discover the others, look at how Hinge handles the boundaries between practices. Its work is especially relevant when different business units need their own identity and a shared place to publish.
Featured project: LBMC
For LBMC, Hinge brought research, positioning, writing and development into one project spanning three domains. A shared publishing setup supported the different operating companies.

Try entering through an industry instead of a service. That alternate route matters when an owner understands their business problem but doesn't know which practice handles it.
3. Five by Five: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Educational Content
3Five by Five
Five by Five combines website strategy, original content, and development across distinct accounting practices, with team profiles and service information supporting client enquiries.
Five by Five makes a good comparison for practices that teach through workshops, guides or events. The practical job is to give that library a relationship to paid services.
Featured project: Inspire Accountants
The team redesigned and developed Inspire Accountants' website, organizing existing educational material alongside its packages and providing search and ongoing support.

Open a resource as a business owner would. A useful next step explains when a conversation with an accountant would add more value than another download.
4. Syrup: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Marketing Team Handoffs
4Syrup
Syrup helps accounting firms organize services and audiences while giving marketing teams flexible website components that support ongoing content growth.
A firm with its own marketing team needs more than finished pages. It needs building blocks that still look right when someone outside the agency publishes a new practice area.
Featured project: Bennett Thrasher
Syrup's strategy and redesign for Bennett Thrasher set out clearer paths for different audiences and gave the internal team flexible page components.

Ask to see an editor put together a landing page for a new industry. That small exercise tells you more about the handoff than a polished homepage.
5. RBU Digital: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Multilingual Websites
5RBU Digital
RBU builds manageable accounting websites with reusable page structures and multilingual publishing, while clearly separating its development role from specialist content partners.
RBU Digital is interesting for a firm serving clients in more than one language. The intake form, the landing page and the team handling the inquiry have to agree about where a visitor goes next.
Featured project: Economos Chartered Accountants
RBU scoped, designed and built Economos' WordPress site with reusable landing pages, segmented forms and a Chinese-language multisite. Bright Sparks Digital led content strategy, SEO and marketing requirements.

Compare how someone enters through each language. Translation is only part of the work if the corresponding form still routes everyone to the same inbox.
6. e9digital: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Industry Navigation
6e9digital
e9digital makes broad accounting expertise easier to navigate by aligning industry pages, service messaging, and contact pathways within a refreshed brand presentation.
Some buyers shortlist accountants by sector long before they compare individual services. e9digital's work shows how to give that decision its own place in the navigation.
Featured project: DDK
For DDK, the agency refreshed the website, messaging and brand standards. Its redesign added industry paths, contact options and a newsletter integration.

Follow a sector link and look for a relevant point of contact. It should feel like an introduction to a team that knows the business, rather than a second generic services menu.
7. Knapsack Creative: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Niche Practices
7Knapsack Creative
Knapsack helps specialist accounting practices explain who they serve, combining tailored Squarespace design, clear service packages, and focused enquiry or pricing tools.
Knapsack Creative offers a particularly clear example of writing for one audience. A niche firm has room to use the vocabulary its clients actually use on the phone.
Featured project: Pioneer Accounting LLC
Pioneer Accounting's custom Squarespace site pairs agricultural positioning with service explanations. Knapsack also handled copywriting and a tailored intake form.

Notice how a farm operator can judge the fit before sending an inquiry. That early self-selection is useful when a small team has limited time for discovery calls.
8. The REX Agency: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Firm Repositioning
8The REX Agency
REX grounds accounting website design in stakeholder research and audience insight, turning a firm’s entrepreneurial perspective into distinctive positioning and clear service communication.
The REX Agency starts further upstream, with what a firm wants to be known for. That matters when partners have outgrown the story on the current site but haven't agreed on a replacement.
Featured project: Provision CPA
The Provision CPA engagement included interviews, audience research, positioning, visual identity, website design and content strategy.

Compare the first impression with what a partner would say in a referral meeting. A redesign earns its keep when those two introductions sound like the same practice.
9. MEANit: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Regional Firms
9MEANit
MEANit gives regional accounting firms tailored WordPress websites with straightforward service organization, editable publishing, and support suited to smaller internal teams.
MEANit is a useful reference for an established regional firm that wants to stay recognizable to local clients. Its work brings the people in the practice into the design.
Featured project: Bonner Gill
For Bonner Gill, MEANit produced wireframes and built a custom WordPress site using Divi, with a blog and ongoing support. Clive Wasson Photography supplied the photography.

Look at the photographs alongside the service pages. Commissioning portraits early can save a local firm from launching with stock images and replacing them a month later.
10. Accountant Website: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Partner-Led Practices
10Accountant Website
Accountant Website organizes accounting services into approachable content and team-led presentation, with a named bespoke engagement distinguished from its separate template products.
Accountant Website takes an individual practice as its starting point. Its Keystone example is worth a look if a partner's reputation brings people to the site and the site needs to turn that familiarity into an inquiry.
Featured project: Keystone Advisory & Tax (formerly Cassell & Co)
The agency planned service content, team presentation and inquiry routes for Cassell & Co, now Keystone Advisory & Tax. The name change matters when comparing the case with the live site.

Read a profile before looking for the contact route. Does the site tell you which questions that person can help with and how to reach their team?
11. DogFish Design: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Service Pages
11DogFish Design
DogFish makes accounting websites easier to understand through plain-language messaging, clearly separated services, and approachable contact pathways for everyday business owners.
DogFish Design is a straightforward comparison for practices whose current site makes visitors decipher a long list of accounting terms.
Featured project: EDN Accountants
EDN Accountants worked with DogFish on a responsive redesign and build. Clearer service categories, messaging, search metadata and contact routes were part of the engagement.

On a phone, try moving from a service description to a question about your own business. A short path here often matters more than adding another item to the main menu.
12. NXTWEB: Best Accounting and CPA Web Design Agency for Bookkeeping Inquiries
12NXTWEB
NXTWEB connects small-business accounting services with straightforward website explanations and enquiry tools, including a quotation feature documented in its Premier Accounts engagement.
NXTWEB's portfolio is a good place to see a recurring service explained as a sequence. That can help a buyer understand what happens after they ask for a quote.
Featured project: Premier Accounts
The Premier Accounts project included a bespoke WordPress and Divi build, lead forms and a three-step bookkeeping explanation. NXTWEB also documented a quote-calculator concept.

Ask which steps a prospect can actually complete on the live site. If a calculator is important to your practice, specify its rules and who maintains them in the proposal.
What can a web design agency do for an accounting firm?
A good engagement starts with an inventory of how the firm wins work. Ask a partner, a marketing manager and someone at reception to describe the last three new-business calls. If each uses different names for the same service, resolve that before approving the navigation. That's where research and copywriting can make a bigger difference than another round of homepage designs.
From there, the work may include service and industry pages, partner bios, a useful resource library, redirects from the old site and staff training. Specify the boundary between the public site and your client portal. The agency can design the sign-in handoff without rebuilding the system that stores tax documents.
How to choose an accounting website agency and compare costs
Pick 2–3 teams and give them the same brief. Include one awkward part of the job, such as a partner who works across three industries or two offices that share a tax practice. Ask them to show how that information would be entered, displayed and maintained.
Subject CPA firm redesign for [practice areas]
Hi [name],
We found your work in BRIX Agency's accounting guide. We're a [size] firm serving [industries]. We'd like a prospective client to find the right partner, while existing clients can get to [portal] in one step.
We have [pages], [partner bios] and [resource articles] to review. Our budget is [range] and we'd like to launch before [date]. Could you price the content work, portal handoff and redirects separately?
Please share a similar firm website and let us know what our partners would need to review. Thanks, [name].
Compare proposals by who interviews partners, who writes the pages, how much old content gets migrated and who handles launch. A price for six reusable layouts and a price for sixty written pages cover different jobs. Ask each team to separate one-time fees, hosting and support, and to identify the review dates that depend on your partners.

Which CMS will your accounting team actually use?
Give each agency a publishing exercise: add a new tax partner, connect her to two services and update the office page. Then ask an internal editor to do it. A single source for the biography is more useful than an impressive demo of a page your firm will never change.

Webflow and Framer are worth comparing for a visually managed marketing site. WordPress is another option when your team wants control over hosting and an established editorial setup. For a larger group, a custom front end in Astro or Next.js can draw from a separate CMS. Include the cost of maintaining that connection.
What belongs on a CPA firm's website?
- Service and industry routes. Let a construction owner find relevant tax expertise without having to know your internal department names.
- Partner pages. Connect names to services, offices and a useful contact route.
- A clear portal link. Returning clients should recognize where to sign in. Keep document uploads inside the intended system.
- Dated resources. Give each time-sensitive article an owner and a review date.
- Simple intake. Collect the details staff need to route an inquiry and leave sensitive documents for onboarding.
Frequently asked questions
How do we shortlist an agency for a small CPA firm?
Start with a comparable practice. A specialist with two partners may need five excellent service pages and one well-routed inquiry form. It rarely needs the same content structure as a group with dozens of offices. Look for an example where you recognize the firm's size, audience or way of winning work.
Ask who wrote the copy and who on the client side reviewed it. A portfolio can look like a good fit even when its success depended on an internal marketing department larger than yours. Choose the team whose process your partners can realistically support during a busy month. Ask them to describe the smallest engagement that covered those same needs.
Should navigation follow our services or our clients' industries?
Give visitors both ways in when both reflect real buying decisions. Someone looking for payroll help already knows the service. Someone buying a dental practice may first want proof that you understand that business. Neither visitor should have to learn your reporting structure to find a partner. A useful interview is with the person who took the original call.
Map a handful of recent inquiries to proposed pages. If a sector page adds relevant experience, people or examples, it earns a place. If it repeats a service description with one noun changed, link the visitor to the stronger service page and introduce the relevant expert there.
What should an accounting partner's bio include?
Lead with the work they handle. A prospective client usually needs to know whether a partner understands their situation before reading a full career history. Describe the businesses they serve, the questions they answer and the office or team they work with. Add credentials where they help explain that experience.
Give marketing one place to update the biography and connect it to relevant services. Test the result by starting on an industry page and trying to find the person behind the work. The reader should reach a useful introduction and an obvious contact option without returning to the homepage. Ask the partner to approve that introduction in their own words.
Can our firm keep its current client portal?
Treat the portal as a separate destination in the brief. If it already handles authentication and file exchange, the redesign may only need a recognizable link and clear wording. Confirm the correct address with the person who supports existing clients before the design team starts building pages. Include the portal destination when you test the new site navigation.
Have a returning client or staff member try the redesigned path on a phone. If there are different portals for payroll and tax, label each by task. Include those links in your launch checks so a new navigation menu doesn't create a wave of avoidable support calls.
How should we prepare partner-written articles for migration?
Make a content inventory before anyone quotes for copying the archive. Record each page's subject, author, publication date and destination. Ask a subject-matter owner to identify current resources, pieces that need an update and content that has reached the end of its useful life. Start the review with the guides clients most often receive by email.
Give the agency the decisions as well as the URLs. A page that has a relevant successor may need a redirect, while a current guide may need formatting and a new author link. Test the most important old addresses after launch and make someone responsible for the next editorial review.
What determines the cost of a CPA website?
Budget around the work behind the pages. A firm supplying approved copy and portraits needs a different project from a firm asking an agency to interview eight partners, reconcile overlapping service descriptions and migrate several years of insights. The number of navigation items won't capture that difference. Request assumptions in writing so both partners evaluate the same scope.
Request separate estimates for discovery, writing, design, implementation, migration and training. Ask how many revision rounds are included and what happens when a partner misses a deadline. Set aside recurring hosting and maintenance as their own costs so your first-year budget reflects what the firm will actually pay.
Which questions belong on a new-business form?
Use routing questions first. A name, contact method, broad service interest and short message may be enough for someone to assign a follow-up. Ask the person who receives inquiries to explain what they do with each answer. Remove fields nobody uses to decide the next step. Have reception confirm the test inquiry arrives with all necessary context.
Keep tax returns, identification documents and similar material in the firm's intended secure onboarding process. Test the public form with dummy details and check the destination inbox, confirmation and assigned owner. A short form is useful only when a real person can act on what it collects.
How do we choose between a visual CMS and WordPress?
Compare an ordinary editing task in each setup. Ask your marketing coordinator to update an office address, add a partner and publish a dated resource. Notice which changes require a developer and whether one edit reaches all the places where the same information appears. Include a second editor in the exercise to check how permissions work.
Then compare who maintains hosting, backups, updates and integrations. A platform that feels easy in a demo can still create work if your agency is the only one able to change a layout. Choose the setup your staff can operate with the support budget you actually have.
When should an accounting firm schedule its launch?
Work backward from partner availability. Partners may need to approve service language, check biographies and review examples. Set those dates around your own filing deadlines and client commitments. A short technical build can still stall when the only person able to approve an audit page is unavailable.
Assign one person to resolve conflicting feedback and another to verify portal and inquiry routes on launch day. Ask the agency to identify the last date when copy changes can be made without moving launch. Put those decisions on the calendar before announcing the new site. Leave a review window after the office signs off on updated portraits.
How can we judge whether the redesign helped?
Start with useful actions your team can recognize. Examples include an inquiry reaching the correct practice, a prospect requesting a conversation with a named partner or an existing client finding the portal without calling reception. Agree on the measures and how you'll capture them before launch. Note which services attract interest from the kinds of businesses you serve.
Compare similar periods where possible because the tax calendar changes visitor behavior. Ask reception and business development to review a sample of inquiries alongside the website data. More form submissions alone won't tell you whether the site is bringing your partners the kinds of conversations they wanted.
Find the right team for your accounting website
Start with the question your current site handles least well. Ask two agencies to walk you through how their featured firm solved a similar problem, then have them scope that work for your team. If you'd like our perspective, tell us about your accounting practice. We reply in less than 24 hours, usually within 1–2 hours during business hours (PST).
